Quick turnaround from the Bobcats game last night, as tonight the Thunder have to contend with the new-look remade Knicks, featuring former Suns all-star Amar’e Stoudemire.

The Knicks are riding the wave of becoming suddenly relevant again.  Led by Stoudemire, the Knicks have experienced a newfound offensive jive.  They are currently ranked 2nd in the league in scoring, averaging just under 108 per game.  However, they are also giving up a near league-worst 107.3, which means that their struggles are all too familiar to the Thunder-faithful.

The Knicks have battled with the Heat and the Celtics, losing both and hitting a small skid.  I would expect that they are going to try to get out and run again against the Thunder.  This means, of course, that it will be incumbent on Westbrook to control the pace of the game.

Pace, you say?

We know where that leads us.  The challenge once more that Westbrook/Maynor will face is not getting ahead of themselves.  Westbrook just came off of a pretty dismal performance against the Bobcats, tallying more turnovers than assists.  He will need to avoid these mistakes, both because the Knicks will know how to capitalize, and also because the NY hometown fanatics will feed off of the energy that the turnovers cause.

Can we start with two solid quarters, and see where we go from there?
